PROJECT OVERVIEW

SPINNING SPRING是TUO建筑设计事务所受服装品牌FENGYI TAN委托，针对品牌23春夏季度主题“正在发生的时刻”，设计并落地的时装秀空间方案。方案由高低错落的大型轻质“花瓣”装置组成，其形状与大小不同，力矩平衡，悬吊空中。秀场中，“花瓣”旋转摇晃，营造出自由浪漫的气氛。

Commissioned by fashion brand FENGYI TAN, atelier TUO aspires to design and manufacture a temporary petal-like rotating installation SPINNING SPRING. Large ‘petals’ are suspended in the air, rotating and swaying in response to the movement of the trusses and models, in attempt to create a free and romantic scene.

DESIGN STRATEGIES

“FENGYI TAN 23春夏系列“正在发生的时刻”通过记录绽放到凋谢的玫瑰去发现短暂瞬间的美。设计师运用轻盈的材料，通过编绳、层叠、镂空等工艺从平面到立体，具象到抽象，不同角度去展现花朵的多种形态。”

“FENGYI TAN’s Spring/Summer 23 ‘Moments in the Making’ collection explores the beauty of fleeting moments by documenting roses from bloom to fade. Using light materials, this season’s collection is made up of a wide range of flowers, from flat to three-dimensional, figurative to abstract, using techniques such as braiding, layering and hollowing.”

秀场位于上海洛克外滩源光陆大楼内，原始混凝土墙面顶面，自流平地面；层高复杂，矮至3米，高至8米；面积约400平米，可容纳观众约200人。场地限制搭建时间两小时，撤场必须在30分钟内完成。如何在空旷的场地内快速完成搭建，创造出符合时装秀主题的气氛，是本次设计的难点。

The venue is located inside the Rock Bund, consisting of rough walls and self-leveling raw flooring. Covering around 400 square meters, the space has a complicated floor height of up to 8 meters and down to 3 meters. The time constraint for site construction is 2 hours, while the demolition is limited to 30 minutes. Thus, the difficulty is creating an efficient scheme that allows fast assembly in a large space while maintaining a romantic atmosphere.

秀场内，十八片巨型的“花瓣“，分为三组，高高低低，漂浮空中，缓慢旋转。每一朵花瓣本身也保持着微妙的平衡，风或是模特的触碰，都会触发花瓣转动。时刻运动的花瓣，时而近，时而远，创造出自由浪漫的氛围。灯光打亮粗砺原始的场地，观众和模特置身在轻盈精致的“花瓣”之中，一方面回应了场地独特的气息，另一方面强化了品牌概念。

Inside the venue, eighteen pieces of giant ‘petals’ are organized into three clusters, positioned at separate heights, gently rotating in the center of the field. Each petal retains a subtle balance from one another and is easily triggered by a breeze of wind or a light touch from the models. The constantly changing petals flow ethereally in the air, generating a romantic and liberal mood. The lights above reinforced the rough ground with a glow, placing the audience and models in the center of airy ‘petals,’ which echoed the particular venue and enhanced the brand concept.

桁架作为主要结构。通过计算，装置各自实现力矩平衡，稳定地站立在场地中央。由此，整个装置高度预制，组装简易，极大减少现场搭建风险和工作量。

The truss supports are the main structure. Throughout calculations, separate parts of the installation are balanced stably, standing safely in the center of the venue. Thus, the installation pieces are mostly prefabricated and easy to assemble, largely reducing the construction time on site.

材料与构造
MATERIALS & DETAILS

一场15分钟的时装秀往往需要大量人力物力的投入，随之产生大量搭建垃圾。方案在材料选择上希望尽可能的减少浪费，故优先考虑了可重复利用的成品材料和成熟构造，如常规尺寸的方管桁架、电机转盘、成品配件等；其次采用可回收材料，如钢管、钢板等，而不产生建筑垃圾。

A fifteen-minute show often requires a large amount of resource consumption, producing substantial construction waste. The project proposes to minimize waste by utilizing reusable materials and industrial products, including steel trusses, turntable motors, and ready-made components. Secondly, the construction implements recycled materials such as steel tubes and joints, thus refusing to generate waste.

成熟的工业产品往往配备了完备的搭建工具，随之带来了搭建速度上的优势。简洁轻巧的桁架系统和成品餐桌转盘电机让4个施工人员在30分钟内实现的主体结构足够的稳定性。“花瓣”装置充分借鉴了广告软膜的构造节点，使弹性布料以张拉的状态简洁地固定于方钢框架上。“花瓣”自然悬挂于TRUSS架的安全扣内。就此，搭建工作得以在一小时内完成。

Well-developed industrial products are often equipped with efficient set-up tools, speeding up the assembly time. The lightweight truss structure and motor turntable allow four constructors to set up the primary structure within 30 minutes, ensuring sufficient stability. The 18 ‘petals’ have taken reference to the detailing of the fabric light box, which fixed the elastic fabric smoothly upon the steel frames, and “Petals” are naturally hung on the truss. Consequently, the construction work was completed within an hour.
