2024年秋，大星吉子设计工作室的装置作品“露珠塔”亮相于北京朝阳国际灯光艺术节奥林匹克森林公园展区。

In the fall of 2024, the installation “Dewdrop Tower” by Daxing Jizi Design was presented at Beijing Chaoyang International Light Festival, held at the Olympic Forest Park.

二十颗透亮的“露珠”，凝结为一座直径9米、高7.2米的塔形结构。白日里，装置在自然光下呈现水滴般清澈的质感；夜幕降临时，光影如涟漪泛起，邀请人们靠近、徜徉，更能在塔中心触发装置，让乐音与光影交织互动。露珠塔是对自然的礼赞，亦是对现代生活中失落的宁静的追寻。

Twenty lucent “dewdrops” accumulate to form a tower-shaped structure, 9 meters in diameter and 7.2 meters in height. During the day, the installation presents a drop-like clarity in the natural light; as night falls, light and shadow ripple, inviting people to approach and wander, with the added interaction of triggering sounds and light at the center of the tower. The Installation is a tribute to nature, as well as a pursuit of the lost tranquility in modern life.

灵感：聚露成塔
Inspiration: Gathering Dewdrops to Form a Tower

清晨凝结于草叶花瓣上的露珠，以纯粹的形态展现着自然的规律与诗意，带来一日之始新生的喜悦。然而在喧嚣的城市中，人们已鲜有机会去发现或凝视一颗露珠。我们尝试再现并放大这种天然的诗意，唤醒人们对自然的向往。

The dewdrop, condensed on grass blades and flower petals in the early morning, presents itself in its purest form, embodying the poetry of nature, bringing the joy of a new day’s beginning. Yet, in the bustling city, people rarely have the chance to discover or gaze at a drop of dew. We attempt to recreate and magnify this sense of poetry, awakening a longing for nature.

我们将“塔”这一传统建筑形式作为承载“露珠”的主体结构，通过现代设计语言塑造空间与高度。在这里，“塔”的意象在物理结构之外，也是内在精神空间的象征，承载着向内凝视与向外指引的双重意涵。最后，光与声音为露珠塔注入动态的灵光，将空间转化为现实与梦境交融的中间地带。

We use the traditional architectural form of the tower as the main structure to carry the “dewdrops,” shaping space and height through modern design language. Here, the image of the tower goes beyond its physical structure, symbolizing an inner spiritual space, bearing the dual significance of inward reflection and outward guidance. Finally, light and sound infuse the Dewdrop Tower with dynamic radiance, transforming the space into an intermediary zone where reality and dreams converge.

结构：八角悬珠
Structure: Suspended Dewdrops on Octagonal Frame

露珠塔的主体由管式脚手架搭建。多层八角形结构错位相嵌，内层结合四方形框架，竖直方向以三角结构加固。八角台基在形式上延续了塔基的传统意象，同时采用向内收敛的格局，将视线汇向塔的内部，引导人们踏上台阶，步入一个具有围合感、同时与外界连通的空间。

The main structure of the Dewdrop Tower is built with tubular scaffolding. The multi-layered octagonal structure is staggered and interlocked, with an inner square frame reinforced vertically by triangular supports. The octagonal base preserves the traditional imagery of a tower foundation, while adopting an inward-converging design that directs the gaze towards the interior of the tower. This design guides visitors to ascend the steps, entering a space that feels enclosed yet remains connected to the outside world.

一颗露珠的尺度被不断放大，从细微到几乎不可见，扩展直至能够笼罩住一个成年人身躯的大小，形成直观的视觉冲击。PVC气膜取色自东方既白的天空，与透明材料经由多层叠加和充气处理，呈现出水滴般透亮的视觉效果，背部环形的RGB全光谱动态编程灯具与气膜结构结合，组成一颗“露珠”的模块。

The size of a dewdrop is magnified, from tiny and nearly invisible to a scale large enough to envelop the body of an adult, creating an immediate visual impact. The color of the PVC film takes inspiration from the sky at dawn, and through multiple layers of transparent materials and inflation, it achieves a dewdrop-like translucent visual effect. The back features ring-shaped RGB full-spectrum dynamic lighting system, which in combination with the air membrane structure, forms a “dewdrop” module.

20颗两种不同尺寸的露珠模块悬挂于八角形框架上，组成一座三层的塔。每颗露珠模块通过三个固定点，用钢绳连接到主体结构钢架。设计充分考虑了临时装置结构的可持续性，轻量的模块便于运输、储存及重复使用。整个结构可在短时间内实现快速拆卸与重建。

Twenty dewdrop modules of 2 different sizes are suspended within the octagonal frame, forming a three-tiered tower. Each dewdrop module is connected to the main frame by three fixed points using steel wires. The design fully considers the sustainability of the temporary structure, with lightweight modules that are easy to transport, store, and reuse. The entire structure can be quickly dismantled and rebuilt in a short period of time.

塔基的中心，是一座颇具科幻感的操控台。当人们被吸引靠近、探索装置内外时，将自然而然地来到内部中心的“舞台”，按动键钮，进而会惊喜地发现，整座塔化为一件大型的互动乐器。

At the center of the tower base lies a control panel with a futuristic sense. As people are drawn to explore both the interior and exterior of the installation, they will naturally be led to the central “stage.” By pressing the buttons, they will be pleasantly surprised to discover that the entire tower transforms into a large interactive musical instrument.

交互：光韵之诗
Interaction: The Poetry of Light and Rhythm

日间，简洁利落的钢架线条交错，天青色的透明露珠模块微微颤动，让装置既像一件大型艺术品，又仿佛是一座蕴藏某种神秘功能的设备，带有冷静而耐人寻味的未知气质。

During the day, the sleek and concise steel framework intersects, while the sky-color translucent dewdrop modules gently quiver, making the installation resemble both a large artwork and a device containing some mysterious function, exuding a calm and intriguing sense of the mysterious.

夜间，悬挂的露珠模块成为了光影的传播界面。光的涟漪缓慢而柔和地从每颗“露珠“中心向外缘扩散，人们被静谧幽深的光晕包裹，在蓝色、紫色和绿色的流光中，让思绪坠入星空、潜入深海。

At night, the suspended dewdrop modules become the medium through which light and shadow spread. Ripples of light slowly and gently radiate outward from the center of each module, enveloping people in serene and profound halos. Amidst the flowing blues, purples, and greens, one’s thoughts fall into the starry sky, diving into the depths of the ocean.

操控台的17块金属按键对应17个音符，进而与20颗“露珠”联动。当指尖触动音符，空灵悠远的乐音荡开，同时触发灯光感应，相应的露珠模块散发出红色与蓝色的光晕，向塔的内外映射，回应人的演奏，光与音激发出一种奇妙而令人心领神会的联结和共振。

The 17 metal keys on the control panel correspond to 17 musical notes, which are linked to the 20 dewdrop modules. When a finger touches a key, an ethereal and distant note resonates, simultaneously triggering light sensors. The corresponding dewdrop modules emit red and blue halos, reflecting both inward and outward from the tower, responding to the player’s performance. This interplay of light and sound creates a wondrous and intuitively understood connection and resonance with the audiences.

演奏装置的音色采样自空灵鼓，如同水滴落下荡起的回声，悠远而深邃。音阶设计基于中国传统的五声调式，知晓乐理的人可以迅速领悟音阶序列，演奏熟悉的旋律或即兴创作；而即使对音乐一无所知，观众也能在探索中奏出和谐悦耳的乐音，感受光波荡漾的回应。整个空间装置内部也可用于举办小型艺术体验及音乐活动，带来感官与情绪的双重沉浸。

The sound of the instrument is sampled from the Steel Tongue Drum, echoing like the ripples caused by a droplet falling, distant and profound. The scale design is based on the traditional Chinese pentatonic scale, allowing those acquaint with music theory to quickly grasp the sequence of notes and play familiar melodies or improvise. Even for those with no musical knowledge, the audience can explore and produce harmonious and pleasant sounds, feeling the response of the light waves rippling. The entire spatial installation can also be used for small-scale art experiences and music events, offering a dual immersion of both sensory and emotional experiences.

内观与外显
Internal Reflection and External Manifestation

在快节奏的城市生活中，露珠塔以自然的语言，传达一种内观的个人体验，强调深沉的、放慢节奏的疗愈式过程。装置底部的空间从各个面向对外连通，强化汇聚至中心的引导，在这个向内的舞台，观众成为此刻的主角，当感知被超现实的环境唤起，人们也将自然地望向内心本真的觉知。同时，触摸操控台、演奏音符的动作，通过光与乐音的媒介外显于整个装置，每一颗“露珠”如同一个窗口，将个人的感知外化为另一种层次和维度的表达，连接起与世界、与他人的共鸣。

In the fast-paced urban life, the Dewdrop Tower communicates a personal experience of introspection through the language of nature, emphasizing a profound, healing process that slows down the rhythm of life. The space at the base of the installation connects outward from every angle, guiding attention inward toward the center. On this inward-facing stage, the audience becomes the protagonist in the present moment, as perception is awakened by the surreal environment, prompting an organic shift toward the truest awareness within. Meanwhile, the act of touching the control panel and playing the notes is externalized through light and sound, with each “dewdrop” serving as a window, transforming personal perception into an expression in another layer and dimension, connecting individuals with the world and resonating with others.

对观者来说，在露珠塔的体验或许如同一场短暂的梦境，如清晨露珠般转瞬即逝。而我们希望这场体验成为一个日后能偶尔回想起来的片刻，在囿于生活的某个瞬间，会想起置身于一座露珠聚集而成的塔中的感受。提醒自己或许可以偶尔抽离，将目光移向一颗小小的露珠，去窥见其中蕴含的无尽奥妙，再次寻回平静的力量。

For the audiences, the experience of the Dewdrop Tower may feel like a fleeting dream, as ephemeral as the morning dew. However, we hope this experience becomes a moment that can occasionally be recalled in the future. In some moments caught in the confines of daily life, one may occasionally remember the sensation of being in a tower formed by the gathering of dewdrops. It serves as a reminder to slow down and step back, to turn one’s gaze toward a tiny dewdrop, and to glimpse the infinite mysteries within, rediscovering the power of internal tranquility.
