Simplex Architecture was established in New York in 2014, and relocated its office to Seoul in 2017, as a critical investigation of architecture, interior, and design to achieve a high quality design by resolving complex nature of architecture and design through collaborative process with practitioners from a variety of disciplines in the form of simplicity. The firm focuses on the deeper attributes of appropriateness, proportion, and details of architecture and seeks a natural economy of the elements in planning, building organization and circulation. The office has received numerous awards, including Korean Young Archtect Award, Korean Architecture Award, Seoul Architecture Award, Korea Wood Construction Award, Korea Public Architecture Award, KIA Award, and AIA International Design Award. Major projects include Isabu Dokdo Museum, ANArKH Cafe & Restaurant, and Jong-Am Square.
