Founded in Barcelona in 1976 under the direction of Miquel Espinet (1948) and Antoni Ubach (1944-2018), the studio’s work is based on social and cultural commitment, technological innovation, a respect for the environment and functionality.
Espinet / Ubach has a long history in the design of public buildings, cultural and educational facilities.
Among their best-known works are the Bodega Ferrer Bobet in Priorat, the refurbishment of the Cercle del Liceu, the extension of the Fabra Observatory in Barcelona, the Judicial Building in Vilanova i la Geltrú, the newspaper library and the UAB's Faculty of Communication, the Cultural Center La Caixa - Palau Macaya, and the Parés Art Gallery. Among their most recent works are a medical research complex in Barcelona, a winery in Tarragona and the restoration of the emblematic Palau Pons i Pascual in Passeig de Gràcia, Barcelona.
