Kako Irie is an architect, and a partner of Arii Irie Architects from 2017. She previously worked at CAt, led by Kazuhiro Kojima and Kazuko Akamatsu from 2013 to 2017, after studying at the Tokyo University of the Arts and the Politecnico di Torino. At CAt she worked on the competition of the Unosumai Elementary School, Children’s House, Kindergarten and Kamaishi-higashi Junior High School, a recovery project for the Tohoku earthquake in 2011. After winning the competition, she was a member of the project team until the construction and completion in 2017. She holds a Masters and Bachelors in Architecture from the Tokyo University of the Arts.
