1/Y Architects was founded in Chengdu in 2023 by Fan Chang and Liu Yangcheng. With a deep focus on China’s new wave of urbanization in the era of urban renewal, the studio holds the principle of "learning from the past to embrace the future", we are committed to revitalizing outdated spaces while preserving their humanistic memories, updating them with renewed vitality that aligns with contemporary needs. We believe that good architecture should be a vessel of memory, not a frozen image. Only by deeply exploring the context of a site and meticulously refining details can architects build a bridge between space and emotion — allowing memory to take root in the architecture itself.
