Appreciation towards ARPINO for providing the following description:

“OXS”是ARPINO设计的第一个城市家具系列作品，于近日获得了国际上最重大的设计奖项——红点最佳设计奖（Best of the Best）。60年来，红点奖表彰了最具创新精神的各领域设计师及其作品。本次ARPINO设计公司的创意总监兼工业设计师Carlos Pereira将于7月8日在德国埃森举行的颁奖典礼上领奖。

“OXS”, the first line of urban furniture created by ARPINO, has just won RED DOT in the Best of the Best category, one of the most important international design awards, which for 60 years has distinguished the most innovative professionals and their creations. The author, Carlos Pereira, industrial designer and creative director of ARPINO, will receive the prize at the ceremony to be held on 8th july in Essen, Germany.

“OXS”系列作品将在红点设计博物馆展出，以其极简的线条和模块化的结构提供了极大的灵活性，可广泛适用于各类空间。与公共空间产生新的连接可以被理解为一种关乎种族、文化以及宗教融合的社会现象，同时也展示出新型技术对公共空间带来的重要影响，这便是此次设计的出发点。

The “OXS” series, which will be on display at the RED DOT Museum, is distinguished by minimal lines and modular structure, which in a simple way allows a great flexibility, adjusting to the various spaces and to their evolution. The renewal and the access of all to the public space understood as a phenomenon of ethnic, cultural and religious fusion, as well as the awareness of a changing public space resulting from the impact of technological information, was the starting point for the creation of this line, drawn and produced between Europe and Africa.

基于对各种文化的包容性，设计采用了中性的模块化形式，高度适应于不同类型的空间，包括住宅区、公共广场、学校以及购物中心等，可运用的范围包括各类城市设施，如路灯、指路牌、遮阳篷、多媒体售货亭、公交候车亭，以及传统的城市家具，如护木栏杆、垃圾箱、长椅以及安全桩。设计以其轻便和模块化的特点融入到城市基础设施当中，无论是出现在纽约的广场上还是在罗安达的机场中都毫无违和感。

Born under conscious design that accommodates and includes all cultures and topologies, working with neutral and modular forms that are highly adaptable to different spaces – from housing estates and public plazas to schools and shopping malls. This range includes elegant urban lighting and way finders, airy pergolas, multimedia kiosks and protective bus shelters as well as traditional urban essentials such as tree guards, bins, benches and bollards. This fundamental urban equipment, with its quality of lightness and modularity, is as easily at home in a square in New York as it is an airport in Luanda.

ARPINO’s inspiration for “OXS” was taken from multi-functional public spaces across the Mediterranean and a borderless notion of what it means to inhabit and use common spaces, day and night. It is the first iteration of the brand’s simple, long-term goal – making cities better places to be. Minimal design, high functionality and a neutral, inclusive approach: “OXS” elevates the concept of the working city into a call for co-existence and creativity.

It is well-deserved recognition for a wonderful design achievement and proof that the award-winning companies are amongst the best in design. 红点产品设计奖是世界上最大的设计比赛之一。2019年，来自55个国家的设计师和制造商的5500个产品设计项目参与了红点奖的竞争，最终只有1.5%的作品能够获得红点最佳设计奖。由经验丰富的各领域专家组成的国际评审委员会共同评选年度最佳设计的传统已有60多年的历史。在评审过程中，他们通过数天的使用及讨论，最终根据参赛作品的设计质量做出有充分依据的决定。秉承“追求卓越的设计和创新”的宗旨，他们的根据创新水平、功能、质量、使用寿命以及人体工程学等方面进行综合评定。

The RED DOT Award: Product Design is one of the world’s largest design competitions. In 2019, designers and manufacturers from 55 countries entered more than 5,500 products in the competition. Only 1.5% of the objects entered won a RED DOT: Best of the Best. The international jury comprises experienced experts from different disciplines and has been convening for more than 60 years in order to select the year’s best designs. During an adjudication process that spans several days, they try out the products, discuss them and ultimately reach a well-founded decision regarding the design quality of the entries. True to the motto “In search of good design and innovation”, their assessment focuses on criteria such as the level of innovation, functionality, formal quality, longevity and ergonomics.

预祝颁奖典礼圆满成功 | Success to be celebrated at the award ceremony

2019年7月8日，ARPINO的创意总监兼工业设计师Carlos Pereira将参加颁奖典礼。国际设计界人士将齐聚红点颁奖盛会；获奖者将在德国埃森市的阿尔托剧院领奖，随后参加埃森红点设计博物馆举行设计师之夜。此外，“OXS”城市设计系列将在晚会上的“Design on Stage”得到展示。当天起，“OXS”系列也将出现在红点设计的年鉴、网站和App中。

On 8 July 2019, ARPINO’s creative director and industrial designer Carlos Pereira, will celebrate the brand success during the award ceremony. As part of the RED DOT Gala, the international design scene will convene and the winners of the RED DOT: Best of the Best will receive their trophies on stage at Essen’s Aalto-Theater, followed by the Designer’s Night in the RED DOT Design Museum Essen. In addition, “OXS” Urban Design Line will be added to the “Design on Stage” exhibition during the party, which presents all of the award-winning products. From that date, “OXS” will also be on show in the RED DOT Design Yearbook, online and in the RED DOT Design App.
