Appreciation towards KANIUE for providing the following description:

项目最初始于一次咨询，谈论内容是能否用如此有限的预算建造一座新房子。建筑成本大约为1500万日元，我们之前咨询过许多地方，但都无功而返，他们说如果和我们都合作不成功的话，就放弃新建房屋的想法。

The project started with a consultation on whether it was possible to build a new house with this limited budget. The budget for the construction was approximately 15 million yen, and we had consulted with a number of different sources, but without success, and they said they would give up on the new house if it did not work out with us.

有限的预算并不一定影响建筑的质量。我们想要创造一个原始而有力的建筑，只留下真正必需的元素，就像一位肌肉饱满而毫不多余的运动员，能够进行各式各样的运动。

Limited budgets do not necessarily affect the quality of architecture. We wanted to create a building that was primitive and powerful, leaving only what was truly necessary, like an athlete with no excess or deficiency of muscle that is best suited for physical activity.

一楼大约一半采用的是混凝土地面，其上方的二楼则采用透光格栅地板。房屋的六个窗框（卫生间通风窗除外）都集中在混凝土地面与透光格栅地板交接的短墙面上。

About half of the first floor is finished with an earthen floor, and the second floor above it is a louvered floor that allows light to fall through. The six sashes of the house, except for the ventilation window of the toilet, are concentrated on the short-hand wall where the earthen floor meets the louver floor.

跨越二层的窗框本身就充当了扶手，避免了不必要的细节和成本。在这个房子里，我们还考虑了“聚集”的概念。我们收集了窗户、光线、开阔空间以及楼梯间。虽然每一个元素都平凡且不起眼，但我认为这些微小力量的积累将变成巨大的力量，创造出一个非同寻常的特别空间。

The sashes, which straddle the second floor, themselves serve as handrails, eliminating unnecessary detailing and cost. In this house, we also considered the concept of “gathering”. We collected windows, brightness, openness, and a stairwell. Although each of these elements is ordinary and powerless, I thought that the accumulation of these small forces would become a great power and create a special space that is anything but ordinary.

我们将不会放弃低成本设计，追求优雅，质疑平庸，只保留真正必需的东西。最终的成果，便是这座有竹林微风拂过的清新住宅。

We will not give up on low cost, learn to be graceful, question the ordinary, and keep only what is truly necessary. The result is a refreshing house where the wind from the bamboo grove blows through.
