Appreciation towards YAOYAO XIN for providing the following description:

4年前，我们还曾报道过她的代表作品“宣纸无骨灯系列”。辛瑶瑶的作品反映出优雅的细腻：从宣纸灯柔却韧，内敛实用的东方美；再到薄青瓷系列的让人不忍重触的脆弱艺术美感，都体现了这位创作者在不同方向探索之路上，对东方美学从一而终的坚守。在中国这个困难但也充满无限可能的市场，已有越来越多尝试与创作涌现，希望古老之美与现代之势在未来能够相互激荡，成就一个冷静有品质的市场环境。

“惭愧”是这系列薄青瓷的名称。

Maybe it will be practical if it is plastic, but I will prefer ceramics.It is really nice that if you put some small fruits on it.The work “Regretful” represents the soul of ceramics ,which is fragile.

选东西的时候，我只以实用为标准，有的书画我很喜欢，但不会买回来，挂在家里，我会担心走火失盗。矜贵的东西会干扰你，不能专心工作。购买时我有理智，而自己做东西却非常糊涂，可能是一种反弹。

做成塑料的，可能就实用了，但仍然选陶瓷。我对实用没有感觉，连看女孩子，我也喜欢那种长的薄命相的。

品尝笋尖的鲜味，从笔锋的转折中得到愉悦，从几种颜色的配合中读到信息，这些刁钻的体验，才是人最神奇的地方，塑料不能代替陶瓷，要漂亮但无用的东西，这是一种馋。

青瓷是消极，退淡，冷遁的。这是一个高音的，淡色的世界，这是单一乐器的solo，用的是古琴而非羽键琴更非钟磬。

When choosing things, practicality is the most important standard for me. For instance, although I like one painting very much, I won’t buy it and hang it up at home, since I will worry about fire and thief. You can’t concentrate on your work because of precious things. I can keep my reason in buying, but I will become confused in making things, which maybe something like rebound.

These tricky experiences like tasting the flavor of tender tips of bamboo shoots, getting pleasure from the turn of strokes, reading some information from the combinations of several colors are the most magical aspects. The ceramics cannot be replaced by plastics. It is some kind of vanity to seek beauty which is useless.
Celadon is negative and cold. This is a treble and light-colored world. This is the solo of a single instrument.

technics:It is not any kind of traditional techniques,It is a long story to explain.In one word,that is mix,mix the techniques of making paper,plastics and metal.

辛瑶瑶，中国自由手工艺家居设计师，代表作品“宣纸无骨灯系列”。 2008-2010年作品先后获得德国产品设计Red dot 和IF设计奖，无骨宣纸灯系列作品受邀参加2010伦敦设计周TENT LONDON设计展，2014年作品贴片陶瓷系列参加米兰沙龙设计展，其作品进入上海和北京多家当代设计商店和艺术空间、旅馆、创意中心。

XINYAOYAO is a handicrafts design studio which was founded by Xin Yaoyao in 2010 in China.It covered the material research which been used in the houseware design and objects in people’s life.Xuan paper Lamp without skeleton design project is the representative works.XINYAOYAO has participated in TENT LONDON in 2010 London Design Festival as an exhibitor.Now XINYAOYAO based in Shanghai ,China,and accept orders for Europe,Japan,and Taiwan.
