Appreciations towards DIA Studio (Contact: zhaoeffson@hotmail.com) for providing the following description:

“城市是自然的延伸，而非自然的对立面”——简·雅各布斯。在被钢筋水泥构筑的城市核心区，自然绿意显得尤为稀缺，而郑州新晋园区park park却不缺绿荫，园区7栋白色建筑沿着向东流淌的熊儿河边错落布置，河边四季风物岁序更新，城市与自然仿佛近在咫尺。兑话设计团队主持设计的咖啡厅空间——而已咖啡正位于park park园区独栋建筑内，不乏慕名而来的咖啡爱好者。

“The city is an extension of nature, not its opposite.” — Jane Jacobs. In the heart of the city, woven with steel and concrete, greenery is a rare treasure. Yet, the newly opened Park Park compound in Zhengzhou is an exception. Seven white buildings are arranged along the eastward-flowing Xiong’er River, where the scenery changes with the seasons, bringing nature and the city into intimate proximity. Designed by the DIA Studio, 21 Cafe is situated in one of the standalone buildings within the Park Park compound, attracting coffee enthusiasts from near and far.

松弛有序
Relaxed Yet Orderly

而已咖啡主理人对于店铺有着清晰定位，他希望为真正喜爱咖啡的人群，提供一处松弛的角落，能够安静的享受咖啡，感知自然，与友人轻松互动，反倒将客流量看作次要。他在参观了同在park park园区的兑话设计工作室之后，对于店铺面貌有了更为清晰的想象。

The owner of 21 Cafe has a clear vision for the space. He hopes to provide a relaxed corner for true coffee lovers—a place to quietly enjoy coffee, connect with nature, and engage in easy conversation with friends. Foot traffic is secondary. After visiting the DIA Studio , also located in the ParkPark compound, the owner found a clearer image of what his cafe could become.

而已咖啡主理人在40岁之际，按他的话说“不管三七二十一”的跨入咖啡领域，实际上，他的主业是财经大学的MBA老师，咖啡是他的跨界探索之一。对于生活种种和事业成就，他认为无须过于执着于结果，享受过程更为重要，开咖啡馆也是如此。“而已咖啡”的“而已”二字正是他对于人生诸事的一种松弛态度。兑话设计对于咖啡厅的设计理念，正是受到主理人人生态度的启发，以回归当下的内在感受为原点，将空间尽可能的返还给自然，于是产生“以窗为景”的设计构想。

At 40, the owner, as he puts it, stepped into the coffee world “without hesitation.” In fact, his main profession is as an MBA lecturer at a university of finance and economics. Coffee is one of his cross-disciplinary explorations. Regarding life and career achievements, he believes in focusing less on outcomes and more on enjoying the process. The same applies to running a cafe. The name “21 Cafe”name reflects his relaxed attitude toward life’s endeavors. Inspired by the owner’s philosophy, DIA Studio centered the cafe’s concept on returning to the present moment and reconnecting with inner sensations. The space was designed to give back to nature as much as possible, leading to the idea of “window as a view.”

多重质地
Multiple Textures

咖啡店入口并不醒目，甚至低调到容易被忽略，透过格栅木门隐隐的能够望见室内。从踏入店门的那一刻，即刻感知到空间的独特氛围。

The cafe’s entrance is unobtrusive, even easily overlooked. Through the slatted wooden door, the interior is faintly visible. Upon stepping inside, one immediately senses the unique atmosphere of the space.

对此咖啡厅的初印象，是因多重材料糅合形成的矛盾反差感。当环顾周遭，继而产生新的印象，融合了木质、混凝土与金属等材料的空间，实现工业气息与人文温度的有序平衡，像是大胆混搭的着装，却出乎意料的协调。

The first impression is one of contrast, created by the blending of diverse materials. As one looks around, a new impression emerges: a harmonious balance between industrial elements and human warmth, achieved through materials like wood, concrete, and metal. It resembles a boldly mixed outfit that surprisingly works well together.

在靠近入口处，即设置靠窗座位，采用上下开合折叠窗，定制的移动咖啡桌略高于座位，便于咖啡的取拿。在行、望、坐、取等细微之处，客人可体会到空间中设计哲学，家具的工艺美感，以及人性化的精准考量。

Near the entrance, window seats are arranged with folding windows that open upward and downward. Custom movable coffee tables, slightly higher than the seats, facilitate easy access to beverages. In the subtle details of movement, gazing, sitting, and retrieving, guests can appreciate the design philosophy, the craftsmanship of the furniture, and the thoughtful human-centric considerations.

以窗为景
Window as a View

咖啡店与自然的互动，则是通过开窗尺度，来构建内与外，明与暗的交互。兑话设计在空间中采取了“以窗为景，捕捉光线”的设计策略，吧台、陈列和座位均迎着自然光的朝向，以窗的尺度来调控光线强弱，从而营造窗明景异的氛围。设计师表达：“通过对窗口大小的取舍，比如将窗洞缩减，令人们更加珍惜有限的景观视野。”一层近楼梯处的窗户，藏着设计师的幽默感，从内部看仅仅是窄长开窗，而从外部看，则是一整面不透光的镜面玻璃，以此实现咖啡厅与外界之间的有趣互动。

The cafe’s interaction with nature is realized through the scale of the windows, creating a dialogue between interior and exterior, light and shadow. DIA Studio adopted the strategy of “window as a view, capturing light.” The bar, displays, and seating are oriented toward natural light, with window scales carefully calibrated to control its intensity, crafting an ever-changing play of brightness and scenery. As the designer’s explain, “By adjusting the size of the windows—for instance, reducing the window openings—we encourage people to cherish the limited views.” A touch of humor is found near the staircase on the ground floor: from the inside, the window appears as a narrow slit, while from the outside, it is a fully reflective mirrored glass, creating an intriguing interaction between the cafe and its surroundings.

拾级而上，两层之间通过天井实现视觉联系，站在二楼刚好可以望见咖啡吧台。采用“取景框”的方式，设计师以木质元素对靠窗区域进行包裹，形成落地窗、长窗的落座区。

Ascending the stairs, the two floors are visually connected through an atrium, offering a view of the coffee bar from the second level. Using “viewing frames,” the designers wrapped the window areas with wooden elements to create seating zones with floor-to-ceiling and elongated windows.

坐在被木质包裹的临窗位置，让人再松弛不过。人们可以不同方式观看自然诗意的流转，也可从中轴门走到户外露台，远眺熊儿河面，舒展身心。在整体空间，设计师通过构建窗景、弱化环境背景等方式，来捕捉人们对自然的关注。空间裸露混凝土的硬朗背景，更加凸显出木质的温度感，提示着人们去看见窗外流动的风景，枝桠摇曳，光影斑驳。

Sitting by the wood-clad windows is the epitome of relaxation. Here, one can observe the poetic flow of nature in various ways or step out through the central door to the outdoor terrace, overlooking the Xiong’er River and refreshing the mind. Throughout the space, the designers guide attention to nature by framing views and softening the environmental backdrop. The rugged, exposed concrete surfaces highlight the warmth of the wood, inviting people to notice the shifting scenes outside—swaying branches and dappled light.

留白场景
Scenes of Blank Space

在咖啡店主理人看来，咖啡馆不止有咖啡，还有咖啡背后的多元文化。为便于在店中陈列咖啡烘焙机，以及开展丰富的展陈活动，设计师将空间向外拓展，为吧台停留、顾客走动和产品展示留下充足余地，外部檐下空间、店铺外摆区也可开放，作为文化艺术跨界内容的场景“留白”。而已咖啡更像是栖息自然的精神补给站，将人们从城市推向自然，不论是闲庭信步，还是驻足交流，均能够在此处寻找到契合的精神律动。

For the owner, a cafe is more than just coffee—it’s also about the diverse culture behind it. To accommodate coffee roasting machines and host various exhibitions, the designers extended the space outward, leaving ample room for bar activities, customer movement, and product displays. The area under the eaves and the outdoor seating can also be opened up, serving as “blank spaces” for cultural and artistic crossovers. 21 Cafe resembles a spiritual refuge nestled in nature, gently guiding people from the urban environment back to the natural world. Whether strolling leisurely or pausing for conversation, everyone can find their own rhythm here.
