Appreciation towards Leaping Creative for providing the following description:

走出地铁番禺广场站，置身一个初见雏形的大型社区。不同于广州核心商圈的密集楼群，新兴开发带来的新建筑与工地交错，大片绿化、开放街区与休闲公园穿插其间，开阔的天空随之显现。在写字楼、公寓、酒店环绕的社区商业综合体中，挑空连廊两面的建筑表皮均为玻璃幕墙，东西朝向优势使得空间内部通透且充满自然光照。唐宁书店就位于连廊的二至四层，总面积约2000平方米。

书店应像大树一样，
成为与社区共生共长的精神家园。

记忆中长在聚居地中央的大树有着茂盛生长的枝叶，人们走出家门来到她的庇护下纳凉偷闲，孩童嬉戏着追逐光斑。走进唐宁，记忆的模糊感受成为了现实的视觉体验：大量绿植重塑空间中的光影并将自然气息引入室内，一如书店的初衷：成为那棵大树，成为与社区共生共长的精神家园。与此同时，设计师选用木地板、浅灰色水泥砖及水磨石等自然材质作为主材，进一步营造轻松、亲民的阅读氛围。

There is always a lush tree in our childhood memory that grows in the center of a habitation, where people come to its shade to share their summer time and children play with light spots underneath.The core concept of the interior design is to bring this common memory into live visual experience, as the original intention of TANGNING BOOKS, the local-famous community bookstore, is to be that tree that grows in and for the community.Luxuriant green plants and sun light is the key element in the space, while wooden flooring, ceramic tiles and terrazzo is applied to enhance the organic and relaxing reading experience.

弱化设计形式感，
提供舒适和包容的环境。

唐宁希望人们无论是在早间运动或夜归途中，穿着便衣或正装，都能在书店中安静阅读和自由思想，拥有自己的一席之地。因此，突显个性的设计形式感被有意弱化，提供舒适和包容的环境是设计的核心思考点。为使书店更为平易近人，设计不将书海奉为高深莫测的殿堂，也不愿为爆满的客流付之网红的形式，而是还原一个社区书店本来的样子，服务和陪伴才是它更重要的意义。

曲面书架系统，
为巧遇一本好书伏笔。

平和的设计并不意味着平淡无奇。三层主力书店区域采用错落的曲面书架系统为书籍类别分区，有限的视野范围令读者得以享受相对私密的停留空间。正如植物的气孔一样，书架间的缺口和书架上的开窗为空间创造了“呼吸的节奏”，围绕着开窗书店将设置主题性的场景式书籍陈列。读者动线在其引导下呈随机的曲线，寻书体验也变得有趣起来。设计师希望穿行在书架间的人们能够在不经意间偶遇一本好书或一个生活场景，在小绕弯中获得“寻觅与发现”的心动时刻。

The curve-surfaced bookshelf system on the 3nd floor provides readers with more private staying space, as well as little surprises when they wondering between the shelves and meet the unexpected right books.

在他们的记忆里种一棵树，
让树下阅读不止于故事。

四层儿童书店是孩子们的乐园。适应学龄前儿童身高的矮柜与绿植及彩色动物形象相结合，引导到访的小客人们在空间中自主阅读、自由探索，并逐渐生出对书本和大自然的喜爱与向往。

The 4th floor features the children’s bookstore, where lower bookshelves are attached with plants and colorful animal figures.

在此层的中央区域，一组曲面书架圈出一块亲子共读的“保留地”，书架尽头的小入口留待孩子们发现。设计师在亲子阅读区的中央种上了一棵树，希望看着屏幕长大的孩子们，在学习翻动书页的同时有机会亲手触碰真实的树皮，让他们也能拥有“邻里间共享一片绿荫”的美好记忆。

In the center of the round family reading area, a tree is planted as a heritage for our kids, to give them a chance to grow up with a memory of reading and immersing in greenery.

对艺术生活的追求，
也将成为到访书店的目的。

除主力书店之外，二层融入唐宁精选的家品及音响等小型电子产品，为社区居民的艺术生活方式提供更多灵感与选择。从“树洞”获得灵感来源，设计师以装置手法在2层楼梯底不起眼的转角位置，开启通往“光之森林”的秘密入口。人们在柔光中驻足，打开想象力开关，去往书籍背后的广阔世界。空间中的玻璃房子结合线框装置，呈现富有趣味的“名人书房”。定期做客唐宁的名人嘉宾将在这里向社区读者分享他的阅读体验。

三层及四层入口处的橱窗分别围绕阅读相关主题进行设计，三楼橱窗以“城市阅读生活”为主题。四层橱窗则以“书中的奇幻世界”进行概念性表达。

唐宁品牌视觉元素运用，
老朋友的默契和新朋友的喜爱。

2015年起唐宁书店开始使用由立品团队设计的品牌视觉形象系统，而在全新店面中，其标志蓝色被用于外立面、各层收银台、导视标志及其他细节处，使读者从走进书店直至准备付款离开，都能在熟悉亲切的“唐宁蓝”中获得与书店的情感联结。

The brand identity’s blue color of TANGNING BOOKS is applied in the store façade, cashiers and guide signs, aiming to convey the core brand image and to enhance the connection between customers and the community bookstore that always be around them.
