Located at the riverside of Mian, where the bamboo lushes, that is Mianzhu.

绵竹地处四川盆地西北边缘，以“竹纸之乡”而闻名于全国。此地因多竹而产竹纸，年年岁岁之间，纸木交融，书院闻名，年画兴盛，是四川省历史文化名城。

Mianzhu is located on the northwestern edge of the Sichuan Basin, famous for the bamboo-made paper. The local academy and drawings became well-known with the bamboo-made paper, and therefore the city became one of the most famous historical cultural cities in Sichuan Province.

绵竹图书馆设计以竹为魂，以纸为形，用抽象有趣的建构方式呈现出既传统又时尚的建筑形象，充分体现出“竹纸之乡”的地域文化特色。

Mianzhu Library uses bamboo as the main concept that blends into the building and takes the idea of the paper to develop the form of the building. A modern architectural style is used in the building, which fully indicated a piece of architecture located in Mianzhu, the hometown of bamboo paper.

建筑像是矗立在城市中的一件”折纸艺术”，形态如折纸般起伏，转折，包裹。从地面到墙面再到屋面，连续完整，一气呵成。竹纹状的装饰混凝土挂板配合竹林般的金色铝合金格栅让建筑在近人尺度更加细腻丰富。

The building looks like a piece of origami art placed in the city. It grows from the ground and flows naturally to the façade and to the roof. The bamboo-casted concrete and the bamboo-like aluminum grille together make the building mode delicate and rich on a human scale.

结合遮阳因素与室内不同部位采光需求的不同，建筑立面设置有交替错落的竹叶形装饰构件，突出了建筑剪影般的虚实对比，让建筑既有折纸般的灵巧性，又有文化建筑的厚重感。

Considering the indoor lighting requirements with different functional spaces, the façades are decorated with bamboo leaf-shaped components, which also highlights the contrast between the virtual and solid parts of the building. These let the building not only have the dexterity of origami, but also the heaviness of cultural architecture.

设计特别注重内部空间文化氛围的营造，建筑内部设有通高4层的共享中庭，中庭四向边界层层退台，错动，形成倒金字塔形的共享阅览空间，让楼层之间的视线能更好的交融。

The design pays special attention to the creation of a cultural atmosphere in the interior space. Inside the building, there is a 4-story shared atrium. The atrium is set back and staggered to form an inverted pyramid-shaped, which forms a common reading space, and provides a spacial connection between different floors.

中庭的顶部设置可开启天窗，充分的利用自然采光并组织室内通风。围绕中庭盘旋而上的公共楼梯象征探索未来的知识之路，在串联各层人流的同时，形成具有标志性的视觉焦点。

An openable skylight is used at the top of the atrium, which helps to increase the natural daylight into the library. Stack effect of the atrium is also used to reduce the use of mechanical ventilation. The public staircase that spirals up around the atrium sybolise a road of knowledge to explore the future. The staircase not only connect different floor, but also forms an iconic visual foci.

绵竹图书馆在实现藏阅功能的同时，还整合了文化展示，学术交流，文化培训，休闲消费等多种功能，让项目变成绵竹全新的文化休闲聚集地。

Mianzhu library is not only used for collection and reading, but also integrates functions of cultural display, academic exchange and communication, professional training, and leisure. These made the library a new destination to spend leisure time in.

项目结合光环境与风环境分析，采用了多项被动绿色技术，充分呼应了双碳理念。

Light and wind analysis is fully used in the project. Passive green technologies are used, which are response to the low-carbon concept.

整个建筑在文化表达，空间营造，材质氛围上始终秉承表里如一，整个建筑由表及里，一气呵成，形成让人印象深刻的，最有绵竹特色的文化地标。

The cultural indication, created atmosphere, and the use of material all follows one concept, which makes a unique and well-integrated building. Together, it forms an impressive cultural landmark with the most characteristics of Mianzhu.
