鸽子花桥位于湖北省恩施市宣恩县，桥梁以灵巧的身姿横跨于淙淙流水之上，与当地优美的山林景色相映成趣。从高处俯瞰，鸽子花桥犹如一件由大自然创造的工艺品于碧水之上翩翩起舞；置身桥上，观云卷云舒，感时序交替，仿佛与自然融为一体。

Gezihua Bridge is situated in Xuan’en County, Hubei Province. The bridge spans gracefully over a stream, harmonizing with the region’s beautiful mountainous landscape. From an aerial perspective, the bridge resembles a natural masterpiece dancing upon the clear waters. Standing on the bridge, we can observe the drifting clouds and experience the changing seasons, creating a sense of unity with nature.

鸽子花桥的设计灵感来自于宣恩县县花——珙桐。其花序形态独特，宛如小巧的鸟头，而苞片则洁白无瑕，宽大如翅，随风轻轻摇曳时，宛如一群群洁白的鸽子在枝头翩翩起舞，即将振翅高飞，故得名“鸽子花”。设计者充分挖掘当地文化，让人们在通行之余，也能感受到大自然的美与浓重的人文关怀。

The project is inspired by the county flower of Xuan’en—Dove Tree (Davidia involucrata). The unique inflorescence of the dove tree resembles small bird heads, and its white bracts, fluttering gently in the wind, resemble white doves poised to take flight, which influenced the bridge’s design. The designers explored local culture, allowing people to experience both the beauty of nature and a deep sense of cultural empathy while using the bridge.

为增加桥梁的稳固和美观性，鸽子花桥融合传统美学与现代工程技术，主体结构采用现代木结构框架体系，木材主要为胶合木，上覆PTFE膜，并采用竹篾条编织桥身的曲面围合。木梁多为异型曲梁，采用了曲线胶合木结构，在恩施地区属于首例；这一选择不仅呼应了自然环境的和谐共生理念，也彰显了对可持续建筑材料应用的深刻考量。桥梁所用的木材不仅完美保留了其原有的温暖质感和自然纹理，展现出木材独有的温润与雅致，更在耐候性、防腐性等方面实现了质的飞跃，从而确保了桥梁长期的美观与安全，体现了人类智慧与自然资源的和谐共生。最终，巧妙的构思与现代工程技术使得身形优美的鸽子花桥得以“飞入寻常百姓家”。

To enhance both stability and aesthetics, Gezihua Bridge combines traditional aesthetics with modern engineering techniques. The main structure features a modern wooden framework, primarily made of glued laminated timber, covered with PTFE membrane, and woven with bamboo strips to form the bridge’s curved surface. The use of these materials is a first in the Enshi region. This choice not only echoes the harmonious coexistence with the natural environment but also underscores a commitment to sustainable building materials. The timber preserves its inherent warmth and natural texture while improving durability and weather resistance, ensuring the bridge’s long-term beauty and safety, embodying a harmony between human ingenuity and natural resources.

鸽子花桥的修建不仅解决了两岸的交通问题，其自身更是一处满载着人文气息的绝佳休闲场所。桥梁的铰接支座通过较虚的空间隔断手法自然延伸出了供市民娱乐的空间，于潺潺流水之上创造出了一个线性的活动空间。桥上的宽阔步道不仅方便了行人和自行车的通行，还特意设置了舒适的座椅和观景台，将静态的空间元素引入到动态的车流、人流之中，于方寸之间体验动静交融，包含着建筑师在哲学层面更深层次的思考。

Beyond resolving transportation issues across the riverbanks, Gezihua Bridge serves as a recreational space imbued with cultural significance. The bridge create an extended space for public enjoyment over the flowing water, providing a linear activity area. The wide pathway accommodates both pedestrians and cyclists, and features comfortable seating and observation decks, integrating static space elements with dynamic traffic. This design introduces a blend of movement and tranquility, reflecting a philosophical depth in the architect’s approach.

宣恩的鸽子花桥达到了结构、形象、技术的统一；充分体现出设计者尊重当地文化的态度以及对木材杰出的应用手法。夕阳西下，宣恩县的青山碧水如一幅优美的山水画引得人们纷纷驻足观赏，而鸽子花桥正如一支画笔，含芳吐艳，以绝美的笔触飘舞在崇山峻岭之间，为我国美丽乡村建设又添上了浓墨重彩的一笔。

Gezihua Bridge achieves a balance of structure, appearance, and technology. It demonstrates the designer’s respect for local culture and exceptional application of timber. As the setting sun casts its glow, the bridge, with azure and verdant mountains, portrays a serene landscape painting. It is another remarkable contribution to the development of beautiful rural communities in China.
