Casa João – Antes

This project set on the countryside follows a reflection on the concept of the modern –as developed by the central europeans in the past century With the free plan being closer in essence to many vernacular structures . This pitched house, set longitudinally on three diferenciated functional ‘modulas’, was built on a tight budget and with locally available materials. Its volumetry helps the internal conditions of comfort Clay tiling is to be found throughly the building: on the floor, on the external longitudinal walls, on the roof The apparent rustic aspect of the house that is given by the pitch roof hides in the interior a space that is – in its hierarchy – modern.
