该项目是一个生产芥末、泡菜和蔬菜的工厂，由业主与建筑师一同完成，建成后的项目如同是工业发展环境中的一座孤岛，将周边自然保护景色引入到建筑内部。建筑师按照一个创新、现代化的修道院建筑原则进行设计，由于预算紧张，建筑去除了“冗余”的部分，只留下最精炼的设计理念，一座用于存储芥末种子的筒仓作为芥末塔，成为建筑的至高点。

A production site for mustard, pickles and imposed vegetables according to an innovative, contemporary abbey principle. It does not stand in line but is an island in the industrial development and thus pulls the underlying nature reserve inwards. Due to the low budget, the ‘fat’ has been cut away, leading to a condensed concept. The production was commemorated together with the client from horizontal to vertical, with the mustard tower where the silos with mustard seed are located.

公共区域
PUBLIC ARENA

建筑场地与美丽的自然环境紧密衔接：周边自然保护区蔓延生长的野生灌木、树篱和树木，限定了建筑所能占据的空间。

Outside this perimeter, nature comes knocking at the door: wild shrubs, hedges and trees from the nearby nature reserve are extended to the site, which minimizes the occupancy of the building.

“竞技场”围绕着建筑，尺度由大型卡车和消防车转弯半径决定，铺装满足装卸货物所需的最小面积，以最少的投入实现效益最大化。这片区域是一个完整的圆形，过滤周边环境的围护结构也遵循着与同样的设计原则：以最低的封闭度保证场地的安全需求。广场作为丰富多彩的活动场地向社区开放，借助这种方式实现公共利益最大化。

The ‘arena’ extends around and is the minimum paving (turning radius) for loading and unloading. The size of the arena is determined by the turning circle of the largest truck (and fire department). So minimal effort with maximum results. The circle is perfectly round and is bordered with a closure that will also serve as a stand. This will filter the relationship with the surrounding landscape, but we will also have the same principle here: a minimum closure that is necessary to safely close the site.The arena will be publicly opened up in the form of a polyvalent event square for the community. Right from the opening, the building could count on an important public interest from the wider environment.

COLLECTIVE MASK FOR THE COMMUNITY

建筑后部是一片为社区服务的公共蔬菜园，可以在这里种植各种蔬菜。建筑内部定期举行研习班和课程，分享蔬菜腌制和存储经验。

At the back of the building a collective vegetable garden will be provided that will serve the community. All kinds of vegetables will be grown here. Experiences on brining and storing vegetables are shared in the building in the form of workshops and courses on a regular basis.

建筑本质
INHERENT QUALITIES OF THE PROJECT

设计如同一项手工艺，芥末塔象征着为期两年的设计研究和新垂直生产线的高潮。建筑以极度简洁、神圣而生动的设计语言，呈现对过往场景的思考。中央大门是场地的唯一入口，阻挡了来自外部街道的视线，建筑仅有一个入口、一个至高点、一道限定保护范围的圆形围栏。

Design as a craft. The mustard tower symbolizes the culmination of two years of design research and the new vertical production. The architectural language is surprisingly simple, sacral and reminiscent: a thought of a phenomenon from the past. The central gate is the only entrance to the site and protects the view from the street. One entrance, one control point, one fence on the edge of the circle defining the protected zone.

大尺度的正立面由混凝土板按照一定的韵律构造而成，中央大门如同立面上的一个洞口。建筑立面直接呈现内部布局，前部空间只容纳对紫外线敏感的存储区，后部完全与自然环境隔绝，以营造有利于生产的工作环境。但建筑并不是一个用于食品安全生产的封闭盒子，其本质是一个中心带有旋转楼梯的开放空间，能够触发多样的相遇机会。Camp’s是一个现代化的修道院：在建筑设计引导下，人们能够体验到神奇的生产过程。通过广场后人们进入了另一个世界，一个呈现出勒杜和布雷严谨而奇幻现实主义的空间。

The central gate reveals itself as a gaping hole in the massive façade that consists of a rhythmic set of concrete panels. The façades literally translate the inside of the building. The front only accommodates storage that is UV sensitive, the back is completely cut-out to the underlying nature in favor of the workspace where it is produced. Not a typical closed food-safe box, but an open space with the central helix that induces mutual encounters. Camp’s is a modern abbey: a place where, supported by architecture, you experience the magic of the production process. From the arena you enter another world, where the strict but wondrous surrealism of Ledoux and Boullée is never far away.

泡菜、芥末和蔬菜生产
THE PRODUCTION OF PICKLES, MUSTARD AND VEGETABLES

考虑到所有泡菜、芥末和腌制蔬菜的过程最多由三个人完成，建筑两层空间中的声学设计变得非常重要。中央核心筒在空间和声学方面都发挥着重要作用，让每一位工作人员都能够听到机器或者其他同事需要帮助的声音。核心筒内部包含两个大筒仓，是进行第一道芥末生产准备工序的地方。

In view of the production of all pickles, mustard and imposed vegetables by a maximum of three people, an acoustic connection between both levels is very important. One must be able to hear when a machine is tightening or when a colleague needs help. The central vide provides this connection between the two. Not only acoustically, but also spatially, this was an important part. The large silos end up in the mustard heart on the first floor, where the first preparations are made in making the mustard.

建筑需要符合食品安全标准，严格分离卫生区与非卫生区，建筑师借助中央楼梯巧妙的解决了这一需求，突显出工厂建筑的功能和本质。在建筑的最高点，人们可以看到二层带有两个筒仓的芥末塔。当进入筒仓内部时，它们仿佛是入口两侧的守卫，引导人们在欣赏着自然美景的同时进入筒仓之间的狭窄空间。塔的另一侧是所有的技术设备（CV、通风设施），布局设计保证技术设备不会破坏屋顶构造。

The building must comply with the standards of food safety where by the hygienic and non-hygienic zone must be strictly separated. The central helix staircase cleverly resolves this and shows the functioning and DNA of the building. At the top of the building, as the summum, you can find the mustard tower on the second floor with both large silos. When you step inside this silo room they flank the central entrance door like watchmen. They force you into the narrowing between their two silo bodies to allow you to enter a room with one central eye on the nature reserve. The other side of the tower contains all technical components (CV, Ventilation, …) so that no technical devices can further disfigure the roof.

核心筒旁边是蔬菜工作间，蔬菜在这里经过反复清洗，然后倒立放置，直接或与酱汁混合后放入罐子内。

Next to the mustard heart is the vegetable square, where imposed greetings are repeatedly removed by repeated rinsing and then pour downwards and either ‘naked’ in the jars or mixed with the picklesauce.
