Appreciation towards Minale-Maeda for providing the following description:

这组像机器零件的陶瓷餐具打破了一般餐具所具有的形式和感觉。将现在与粮食产业有关的机器零件的部分改造成为餐具的一部分，打破餐具的功能分工，不寻常的形状引发不同的使用体验。复杂和尖锐部分的造型使用到3D打印的技术。大部分瓷器是圆润的，这是因为脱模更方便，烧制时引起的变形也是最小的。这个项目运用电脑技术辅助生产，与现代传统手工品形成对抗局面。不同的形状选择相应的材料，光泽和饰面，形成一系列渐变统一的整体餐具。

A set of porcelain tableware resembling machine parts, the idea was to breakwith the formal and romantic tradition of porcelain tableware. Partlyreflecting the reality of food production today and partly just going theopposite way of existing tableware, the shapes were adapted from machine partsby analogy. The resulting objects are free to be adapted into different roles,breaking with the strict division of tableware sets. The unusual shapes lead tosurprises and slightly different usage experiences. To achieve the complex andsharp forms the molds were made with a cad/cam process through milling and 3dprinting. Porcelain however is mostly seen in rounded shapes because they areeasyer to demold and work better with its tendency to deform in firing and helpto hide little deformations. Thus the project became a confrontation oftraditional craftmanship, like in hand-turned molds, and modern computerassisted production, and at the same time a reflection on design itself: as inthis case the material had to be pushed far to achieve the desired shape, thequestion is what justifies how much resources are invested in achieveing whattype of result. Careful compromises between material and shape filtered outpracticable objects and finishes. Open set with constantly added shapes andfinishes, so far consisting of small plate, large plate, small cup, medium cup,large cup, small bowl, large bowl, jug, carafe, jar with bsque, transparentglaze, colour gradient, colour block, screen tone block and luster finishes.
