L’atelier is pleased to unveil its lobby furniture collection designed for Berlin International, a vibrant and young academic institution in the heart of Berlin where architecture, design, graphism, and business courses are taught to students worldwide.

虽然受2020年开始的COVID-19疫情影响，柏林国际大学仍然搬到了位于Salzufer Strasse的新校址。现在学生们已经回到了校园，学校急切地想要去布置学院的大堂，在此之前，这个 200 平方米的房间主要用作通往教室和办公区的过渡入口大厅。

When COVID-19 arrived in 2020, Berlin International was still settling in to its new location at Salzufer Strasse. Now that students are back on campus, the institution was eager to animate its faculty lobby which, until now, was a 200m² room used mainly as a transitional entrance hall to classes and office space.

The faculty request was simple: to redesign their entrance lobby with an intervention that would create a solid identity for the space, with a minimum budget and within a short time frame. There was also a request for modularity to facilitate activities such as exhibitions, lectures, and informal gatherings.

L’atelier 制定了三角形楼梯般的概念，无论是平面还是剖面——它也可以被称为四分之一金字塔。该模块可作为休憩或展览的场所，但其主要特点在于它的重复性。

L’atelier devised the principle of a triangular staircase, both in plan and section – it could also be called a quarter pyramid. The module serves as a place to sit or exhibit, but its main feature lies in its repetition.

这一简单具有重复性的形状可以迅速地融入很多物件并且在空旷的入口大堂内创造次空间。柏林国际大学的官方颜色给了设计师灵感，装置的颜色同样使用了条状的粉色和蓝色。它们的图形化设计增强了带轮子模块的趣味性，让学生们仿佛置身于游乐场，自己构成了房间的空间。

The simple, duplicated shape can suddenly metamorphose into many other objects and create sub-spaces within the large lobby room. The official Colors of Berlin International inspire the stripes of blue and pink. Their graphism empowers the playfulness of the modules on wheels, where students can feel like they are in a playground, composing the room’s space by themselves.
